Rashod Bateman (groin) to have surgery, return in September

Baltimore Ravens rookie wide receiver Rashod Bateman is having surgery to repair a groin injury

Baltimore Ravens rookie wide receiver Rashod Bateman will have surgery to repair a groin injury and be out until sometime in September, head coach John Harbaugh told the media Thursday morning.

Bateman suffered the injury earlier this week in practice, and will now miss the entire preseason.

A first-round pick out of Minnesota, Bateman is expected to help Lamar Jackson bring balance to the Ravens’ run-heavy attack by giving him a bigger, more physical target in the passing game to pair with Marquise Brown.
