This was another game where Philadelphia was shorthanded missing Embiid due to injury. They were on the road–where they struggled even when fully healthy–and they were playing at Barclays Center where they have had their issues in the past. The Nets led by as many as 12 and it seemed like a sure loss, but Simmons then went off and had 34 points on 12-for-14 shooting, 12 rebounds, 12 assists, and five steals in a 117-111 win. This was definitely Simmons’ finest performance of the season and again showed more of his value to this team.
