There are some new players on the Raiders roster, so let’s take a look at how they stack up. Today, we continue our countdown as we look at players 10-6 on the Raiders’ roster heading into the 2020 season.

10. QB Derek Carr (28)

Having started every season of his career, Carr is entering his seventh NFL season. He had his second consecutive season throwing for over 4000 yards, both since Jon Gruden came on board as head coach. A jump in production was expected for Carr last season. There was more of a bump than a jump.

Carr’s numbers were slightly better across the board was he completed 70 percent of his passes for 4,054 yards, 21 touchdowns and eight interceptions.

The problem came over the final six games with the Raiders losing five of those games and Carr’s numbers were down from his season averages across the board. He threw just six touchdowns over that time and the offense averaged less than 15 points per game.

9. G Richie Incognito (36)

After spending the 2018 season retired, the 36-year-old returned to the NFL, signing with the Raiders following the trade of Kelechi Osemele. During Incognito’s season away, he got in some trouble with the law a few times and would be slapped with a two-game suspension to begin the season.

Incognito took the field at left guard in week three and became one of the best linemen on the team. He was named a Pro Bowl alternate and was re-signed to a two-year deal.

8. OT Kolton Miller (24)

I must admit I didn’t see Miller making the top ten of this list as of this time last year. He was coming off a rough rookie season, in part spoiled by a lingering knee injury. Without seeing much of Miller healthy, there was no way to know if he could live up to his status as the Raiders pick at 15 overall. But he was very solid at left tackle last season and even showed some improvement in the run game.

7. DI Maliek Collins (24)

Inside pass rush was needed for the Raiders this offseason. Collins brings that. In four NFL seasons, Collins has 14.5 sacks and 40 QB hits. Last season alone, he was credited with 48 pressures up the middle. That’s insane for an interior defensive lineman.

According to ESPN’s win rate, Collins was fourth in the NFL behind only Aaron Donald, Grady Jarrett, and Chris Jones. It looks like the Raiders got the win rate in this addition. And he’s just 24 years old too, so his best football is ahead of him.

6. ED Maxx Crosby (22)

Roaring out the gates for the Raiders was the hair-on-fire rookie “Mad” Maxx Crosby. He put up 10.0 sacks on the season despite not being named a full-time starter until Week 8. Along with his ten sacks, he had 14 QB hits and played a fine bit of run defense as well. The future is bright for Crosby, and the present is pretty bright too.
