Ranking Michigan’s 2020 schedule by game winnability

Taking a look at which games on the schedule are the easiest to the hardest while putting a prediction on Michigan’s chances to win.

6. Indiana – HOME (Senior Day) – Nov. 21

(Admittedly arbitrary) Chances of winning

65%

What poses difficulty

It’s the week before The Game, and the Hoosiers almost always pose a problem to the Wolverines — except last year.

Michigan was rolling and not overlooking Indiana by the year’s end, but it didn’t have to face its star QB in Michael Penix Jr., who returns this year — as does dynamic wideout Whop Philyor.

Given that last year was the first time in years that the maize and blue have just straight outclassed the Hoosiers, it’s difficult to predict the same thing will happen again in 2020. Michigan is still more talented, but that’s never seemed to matter in this matchup.

How Michigan wins

By being aggressive on offense while limiting Penix’s opportunities offensively.

Michigan benefits by being at home, as those games against IU haven’t been as close as those in Bloomington, but it’s still not going to be an easy task.
