What poses difficulty
We think Mike Locksley will turn the Terrapins around — eventually.
Maryland is recruiting very well, and always looks great to begin the season, but almost always falls apart in conference play. However, it’s usually because of external factors such as injuries or the fiasco surrounding former coach D.J. Durkin.
The Terps have talent though, but it was outclassed in College Park last year by a Michigan team just looking to escape with Shea Patterson being under the weather.
This game is at home and after the bye week. Regardless of how much better this Maryland team might be, it shouldn’t be in the same class with the Wolverines. However, Locksley knows what Josh Gattis wants to do offensively. If it can find a way to suddenly field a defense — a year after having the No. 109 unit in the country — it could spell a reversal. But that seems unlikely in 2020/
How Michigan wins
Moderate offense — like last year — and a defense that continues to be aggressive.
So, basically, just play as planned, and the Wolverines should have the victory.
