10. Rutgers – AWAY – Nov. 14
(Admittedly arbitrary) Chances of winning
90%
What poses difficulty
Admittedly, Rutgers should be improved. It has several four-stars on its roster, including two former Michigan players in LB Drew Singleton and DT Michael Dwumfour. Also, Greg Schiano takes over from embattled coach Chris Ash, and having coached in Piscataway before with great success, the Scarlet Knights should eventually get off the bottom rung and beyond — but it could take time. Despite looking like he would transfer, QB Artur Sitkowski returns after opting to redshirt last year, but he’ll be challenged by Nebraska transfer Noah Vedral.
However, Rutgers had the second-worst defense in the country in 2019 and a bottom rung defense. It could get better in 2020, but taking down Michigan is highly unlikely at his juncture.
How Michigan wins
Considering the game is later in the season, whatever Rutgers does well shouldn’t have much of a surprise factor. This is another game where Michigan should outmatch its opponent thoroughly, but it’ll need to limit mistakes, regardless.
