2. 45 points at 38 on New Year’s Eve, 2001

Jordan had quite a few high-scoring affairs in the tour that followed his second retirement from the NBA. His two biggest performances in the 2001-02 season came within two nights of one another.

After dropping 51 on the Charlotte Hornets on December 29, 2001, MJ closed out 2001 with a 45-point, 10-rebound New Year’s Eve performance in the Washington Wizards’ 98-76 win over the Nets (full box score).

Jordan also had seven assists and three steals in the win.
