Ranking every No. 50 pick made in the NBA draft by the Boston Celtics

Our ninth installment of ranking every pick from Nos. 1 to 60, we compare the three picks the Boston Celtics have made 50th overall.

Ryan Gomes – forward – Providence College

Gomes is probably the first (and only) all but the most stalwart Celtics fans recognize, and while the 6-foot-7 forward may not have much in the way of hardware to speak of, he did manage to parlay his opportunity with Boston into a respectable NBA career spanning eight seasons.

After being taken 50th overall by in 2005, Gomes would play for Boston for two seasons, winning All-Rookie Second Team honors in his inaugural season.

He averaged 10 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game before he was dealt with Gerald Green, Al Jefferson, Theo Ratliff, Sebastian Telfair and draft assets to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Kevin Garnett.
