The rumblings about where Bill Belichick could go after he left the New England Patriots hinged on one thing: Bill Belichick actually leaving the Patriots.
Well, it has happened, reportedly. Belichick is out after an astounding 24-year run that includes six Super Bowls with the Pats.
Now what?
That question is two-fold. For the Patriots, it’s about finding his replacement, a tall task given what Belichick has done for that franchise. And for Belichick? He could sail off into the sunset on his boat … or he could go for Don Shula’s all-time wins record (including the playoffs) with another team.
