Rams-49ers inactives: Cam Akers and Jimmy Garoppolo active, Trent Williams out

Cam Akers and Jimmy Garoppolo are officially active, while Trent Williams is out for the 49ers.

The Los Angeles Rams are hosting the San Francisco 49ers today for the regular-season finale, and Cam Akers is officially making his debut after tearing his Achilles in July.

Akers is active and will play against the 49ers, joining Sony Michel in the backfield for the Rams. It’s unclear what his workload will look like, but he’s expected to at least have somewhat of a role as the No. 2 running back.

The Rams’ six inactive players are Bryce Perkins, Chris Garrett, Terrell Lewis, Alaric Jackson, Tremayne Anchrum Jr. and Brycen Hopkins.

The 49ers are in much worse shape. They’ll be without stud left tackle Trent Williams, who’s been one of the best linemen in football this season. He’s out with an elbow injury. K’Waun Williams, their primary slot defender, is also inactive.

Jimmy Garoppolo is officially active and is expected to start against the Rams. He was limited all week in practice.
