The Buccaneers have lost three games in a row and come into Week 9 with an unimpressive 3-5 record. The Rams aren’t much better, having won just three of their first seven games and most recently getting blown out by the 49ers at SoFi Stadium.
The Buccaneers are at home in this pivotal NFC matchup on Sunday and they host the Rams as the favorites. The spread opened as Buccaneers -2.5 and has since shifted slightly with Tampa Bay now favored by 3 points, according to Tipico Sportsbook. The over/under is still 42.5 points, so that hasn’t moved at all in the last five days.
The Rams are just 2-5 against the spread this season, struggling to even keep some of their games close. The Bucs are a half-game worse against the spread, going 2-6 through eight games.
Tom Brady hasn’t lost four games in a row since 2002 but is in danger of dropping his fourth straight if the Rams can pull of the upset against Tampa Bay. Neither team has looked particularly good so far despite coming into the season as two Super Bowl favorites.
