Rams’ Super Bowl win has Cardinals’ WR coach eyeing Super Bowl for Cardinals

Shawn Jefferson saw the Rams celebrating on the field and thought, “This has got to be us next year.”

Arizona Cardinals wide receivers coach Shawn Jefferson was in attendance at Super Bowl LVI with his family. Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Van Jefferson plays for the world champion Rams.

He was rooting for the division rival Rams because of his son. He played in two Super Bowls himself and lost both times. He wanted to have a championship in the family.

After the Rams won it, Jefferson couldn’t help but think about the team he works for when he went down to the field to be with his son.

“When I did make it down to the field, I saw the Rams and how they were celebrating, and it was like I was trapped for like a minute where I was just looking at things,” he recalled when he appeared on the Big Red Rage. “The whole time I’m looking at the Rams players, I’m saying to myself, ‘this has got to be us next year.

“I was happy for my son, but for about a minute, I was like, ‘this has got to be us next year. The energy was amazing.”

The Rams won the Super Bowl playing on their home field at SoFi Stadium. Next year’s Super Bowl will be played at the Cardinals’ home stadium, State Farm Stadium.

The last two Super Bowls have been won by the host stadium’s team. Last year, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won it at Raymond James Stadium and now the Rams repeated at their home stadium.

It would be perfect if the Cardinals could do the same.
