With the regular season now over, teams can begin signing players to reserve/futures contracts to keep them around for the upcoming offseason. The Los Angeles Rams began making such moves on Tuesday, signing center Drake Jackson to a futures contract.
Additionally, the Rams cut kicker Ryan Santoso and long snapper Carson Tinker from the practice squad, which isn’t the first time they’ve released those two players. They’ve been on and off the practice squad a few times this season.
Jackson went undrafted this year out of Kentucky and was viewed as a late-round prospect in the time leading up to the draft. He has traits that can make him a future starter in the NFL, but he’ll take time to develop – which the Rams are buying by signing him to an offseason contract.
