Rams sign 15 players to initial practice squad

The Rams have signed 15 players to their practice squad, all of whom were with the team this summer

The Los Angeles Rams finalized their initial 53-man roster on Tuesday and one day later, they’ve assembled their initial practice squad. They can technically carry 16 players but as of now, they’ve only signed 15 players so there’s room for one more.

Here are the 15 players the Rams signed on Wednesday, 14 of which were with Los Angeles this offseason.

  • OL A.J. Arcuri
  • OL Logan Bruss
  • DT Marquise Copeland (veteran)
  • RB Royce Freeman (veteran)
  • DB Tanner Ingle
  • WR Tyler Johnson (veteran)
  • TE Nikola Kalinic
  • OL Mike McAllister
  • DB Cameron McCutcheon
  • OL Grant Miller
  • LB Troy Reeder (veteran)
  • QB Brett Rypien (veteran)
  • WR Xavier Smith
  • OLB Keir Thomas II
  • WR Austin Trammell

Troy Reeder is the only outside player the Rams signed, but they’re familiar with him after he spent time in Los Angeles previously.

The Rams kept some good depth on the offensive line, especially with Logan Bruss and A.J. Arcuri. It’s interesting that they didn’t bring back Robert Rochell, who was one of their final cuts on Tuesday.

Keir Thomas is a solid player to bring back after he led the team in pressures and sacks this preseason, adding some depth to the pass rush – a unit that desperately needs some help.

Tyler Johnson was on of the final cuts on Tuesday, so he was a tough call but the Rams were able to bring him back and keep him in Los Angeles to provide some help behind the six receivers who made the team.
