After beating the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1, the Los Angeles Rams were eyeing a 2-0 start. Unfortunately, they ran into a talented San Francisco 49ers team in the second week of the season.
Despite losing to the 49ers, 30-23, the Rams still moved up in the latest power rankings. Touchdown Wire’s Jarrett Bailey moved the Rams up from No. 23 to 21 this week after their loss to San Francisco, seeing a team that looks “better than anticipated.”
El. Oh. El if you bet the 49ers to cover the 7.5 point spread. The Rams look better than anticipated, though. They’ve held their own with a roster full of guys that you, I, and Matthew Stafford don’t recognize, and Puka Nacua is on pace for 212 catches.
The 49ers remained No. 1 in this week’s power rankings, while the Seahawks moved up from No. 19 to 16 following their win over the Lions. The Cardinals remained last in the power rankings after nearly upsetting the Giants at home.
Up next, the Rams get the 10th-ranked Bengals, who are currently 0-2 and potentially missing Joe Burrow in Week 3 due to a calf injury. If the Rams can get by the Bengals, they’ll head into their game against the Colts with a 2-1 record and a good chance to get to 3-1 before facing the Eagles.
