Stan Kroenke’s vision for the Rams’ home in Inglewood has officially become a reality. On Tuesday, the Rams and Chargers hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the teams’ new stadium, marking the completion of four years of construction.
It took a year longer than expected, but SoFi Stadium is every bit as spectacular as everyone thought it’d be when the first renderings and designs were released. It truly is one of the most magnificent stadiums in the world, and will play host to events such as Super Bowls, national championship games, the Summer Olympics opening ceremony and possibly World Cup matches.
To celebrate the official opening of SoFi Stadium, the Rams released a chilling hype video, detailing the journey from breaking ground to the building’s completion Tuesday.

The outside of the stadium is spectacular looking, with a lake, plenty of greenery and a can’t-miss canopy swooping from front to back. But inside, it’s even better. The Oculus is a one-of-a-kind videoboard, spanning 120 yards and providing fans with double-sided video.
The concourse is unlike any other stadium’s, featuring elegant touches and even a champagne room. The locker room lighting is shaped like each team’s logo, too, making it feel like home for both the Rams and Chargers.
Greg Beacham of the Associated Press got a tour of the stadium recently and shared some photos and videos from his walk-through.
Got a full tour inside SoFi Stadium last week. They’ve done a beautiful job all around, but the luxury areas really stand out. It’s impossible to show everything, but the premium seating amenities are as nice (and as numerous) as anything I’ve seen in a stadium. pic.twitter.com/unMd2ABfaF

This is the champagne room (!) at SoFi Stadium. It only serves champagne, just like Chris Rock said. There are similar bars devoted solely to whiskey, tequila and wine. About 9,000 fans have access to this level, which goes 360 degrees around the interior. pic.twitter.com/jk0IOTOtgw

Kroenke shared a statement for the official opening of SoFi Stadium Tuesday, thanking the hard-working individuals who made his dream a reality.
“We are in the team business, and you can’t get to a moment like today without a great team. I would like to thank the 17,000 people who have worked on this project over the past four years,” said Rams Owner/Chairman Stan Kroenke. “During a period of unrest and change in many parts of the country, it’s been our deepest privilege to work on a project this special with such a diverse workforce. Thank you for making our vision a reality.”
And here are more details about the stadium, including facts about its size, capacity and expansive number of suites.
SoFi Stadium can host approximately 70,000 fans, expandable up to 100,000 for special events. A stadium built to be fan-first, it has more than 260 suites, seven suite concepts, 12 club spaces, and more than 13,000 premium seats all designed to cater to convenience and extraordinary fan experiences. An all-digital venue, SoFi Stadium has 90,000 square feet of digital LED in the seating bowl alone, 70,000 of which makes up the largest videoboard in sports. A completely unique design, SoFi Stadium’s videoboard is the first of its kind and the only 4k end-to-end videoboard in sports.
SoFi Stadium will host its first event on Sunday night when the Cowboys and Rams square off in Week 1 of the 2020 season.
