Rams RB Blake Corum out for season after breaking forearm vs. Seahawks

Sean McVay shared terrible news on Blake Corum’s forearm injury, which turned out to be a season-ending one

Sunday was supposed to be a breakout game for Rams rookie Blake Corum. Instead, it was a season-ending one.

Corum exited the game against the Seahawks in the second quarter after suffering a forearm injury. He was unable to return and in the second half, he was spotted on the sideline in a sling.

Sean McVay shared an update on the rookie after the Rams’ 30-25 loss, telling reporters that Corum broke his forearm and is out for the year.

“He fractured his forearm, unfortunately,” McVay said. “He’s a tough, resilient guy. He’s going to be a really good player for us for a long time, but he will miss the postseason.”

Corum got the start against Seattle with Kyren Williams resting, carrying the ball two times for 10 yards and catching one pass for 12 yards. Ronnie Rivers took over the bulk of the work after Corum got hurt, with Cody Schrader also playing a handful of snaps.

It’s a devastating injury for the rookie running back, who never really got a chance to shine behind the workhorse Williams. With Corum out, Rivers will be asked to spell Williams in the playoffs, though that will likely only be for 5-10 snaps per game.
