The Los Angeles Rams are promoting Sophie Luoto to the role of director of football operations, as first reported by Charles Robinson of Yahoo! Sports. Luoto takes over for Bruce Warwick, who left to join Florida State’s staff after 10 years with the team. She was previously the manager of football operations in L.A. and has been with the Rams for four years.
The promotion makes her one of the highest-ranking female executives in the NFL.
I'm hearing the #Rams are going to be promoting football administration staffer Sophie Luoto to Director of Football Operations, making her one of the #NFL's highest-ranking female executives in the #NFL. She's been very well-respected amongst the Rams staff and players.

According to ESPN, Luoto, 31, will be in charge of travel for the team and for scouts and prospects, and will also oversee practice operations and training camp at UC-Irvine each summer.
Rams players learned of Luoto’s promotion Wednesday and congratulated her on Twitter.
