In what was an expected and necessary move, the Los Angeles Rams have promoted kicker Brett Maher from the practice squad. The Rams didn’t have a kicker on the 53-man roster but with Maher on the practice squad, they knew they could simply elevate him to fill that void.
Los Angeles signed Maher after final cuts were made, bringing him in to replace undrafted rookie Tanner Brown. Maher hasn’t been with the Rams long and didn’t spend training camp with them, but the team is confident he can be a reliable kicker for them, just as he was for the Cowboys last regular season.
The Rams also promoted Brett Rypien for this week with Stetson Bennett out, and signed Troy Reeder to the active roster.
