Rams players react to Michael Brockers being traded to Lions

Cooper Kupp and Jalen Ramsey are among those sad to see Michael Brockers get traded.

The Rams made the somewhat surprising decision to trade Michael Brockers late Tuesday night, agreeing to send him to the Detroit Lions for a 2023 seventh-round pick. It was disappointing news for fans to wake up to, and players were also sad to see the longest-tenured Ram heading to Detroit.

Cooper Kupp tweeted that he’s going to miss Brockers, recognizing the energy and leadership he brought to the team each and every year.

Jalen Ramsey also shared a message for Brockers on Wednesday. He said Brockers was the first player to contact him after he was traded from the Jaguars to the Rams, an example of Brockers’ leadership in the locker room.

Brockers was a consummate professional for the Rams and the ultimate leader in the locker room. After nine years in St. Louis and Los Angeles, he’ll try to leave his mark on his next stop in Detroit.

At least he’ll have a few familiar faces there in Jared Goff, Brad Holmes and Aubrey Pleasant.
