After facing two quality opponents in the 49ers and Cowboys the last two weeks, the Rams will get somewhat of a break this coming Sunday. In desperate need of a bounce-back win, they’ll get the Panthers at home in Week 6 – a very winnable game for Los Angeles.
The Panthers are tied for the worst record in football at 1-4 and have played to that record, too. Baker Mayfield hasn’t done anything to elevate the team and the defense just gave up 37 points to the 49ers.
The Rams are predictably favored in this game, but it’s a wider margin than some probably expected. According to Tipico Sportsbook, the Rams are 9.5-point favorites over the Panthers. The over/under is fairly low at 41.5 points, with oddsmakers expecting this to be a low-scoring game.
The Rams and Panthers are both just 1-4 against the spread this season, struggling to even keep some games competitive. The Rams now have three losses by at least 10 points, while the Panthers’ last two losses have been by double-digits, too.
The last time these teams met was in 2019, the season opener that year. The Rams held on to win, 30-27, starting the season road victory. This one will be at home, so the Panthers are traveling across the country to face the Rams.
