Rams open as 2.5-point home underdogs vs. 49ers in Week 8

The Rams are getting healthy and coming off a bye, yet they’re still home underdogs against the 49ers this week

What do the Rams have to do in order to be favored over the 49ers? Los Angeles is coming off a bye, is getting several starters back and is playing at home this week, yet San Francisco is still the favorite in this marquee Week 8 matchup.

Not to mention, the 49ers were throttled by the Chiefs, 44-23, on Sunday afternoon.

Still, the 49ers have opened the week as 2.5-point favorites over the Rams in Sunday’s game at SoFi Stadium, according to Tipico Sportsbook. The over/under is 41.5 points, and if you’re confident the Rams will win outright, the money line is +105. In other words, a $100 bet would win $105.

The Rams haven’t looked good this season, limping to a 3-3 record, but it’s not as if the 49ers have cruised so far. They’re 3-4 and Jimmy Garoppolo looked like a backup against the Chiefs on Sunday.

Of course, the 49ers have had the Rams’ number, winning seven of the last eight meetings. The Rams’ only win in that span was the one that mattered, though: the NFC title game in January.

Which way are you leaning? Would you take the Rams and the points this weekend?
