The Los Angeles Rams have officially activated rookie Terrell Lewis from the non-football injury list, adding him to the 53-man roster on Saturday. Sean McVay said Friday that the move would be made before tomorrow’s game against Washington, and it’s now been announced by the team.
In order to free up a roster spot for Lewis, the Rams cut defensive tackle Eric Banks, who the team signed as an undrafted free agent this year.

Lewis was the Rams’ third-round pick this year, being selected at No. 87 overall out of Alabama. He was placed on the NFI list after undergoing a knee scope, which was done after the team was concerned he might have an infection from a previous surgery.
Lewis shined in training camp, with his teammates marveling at his combination of size and speed. Michael Brockers even thought the Rams brought Lewis in to take his spot at defensive end.
