When the Week 16 betting lines came out, the Rams were predictably listed as underdogs against the Seahawks. After losing to the Jets and having to travel on the road, it came as no surprise that the Rams weren’t favored.
But as the week has gone on, the spread has shifted in the Rams’ direction. It opened as Seahawks -2.5 but money coming in on L.A. has moved the line.
According to BetMGM, the Rams are now only 1-point underdogs to the Seahawks. The over/under is set at 47.5, which is where it started the week.
With no major injuries to speak of or late-week issues, it’s likely that the line has moved because of bets coming in on the Rams. If the majority of bets are on L.A., the oddsmakers shift the line to balance things out a bit to avoid big losses.
Los Angeles has a lot to play for today with first place in the NFC West on the line, so it’s hoping not to cover the spread, but to beat the Seahawks outright.
