One month ago the Los Angeles Rams were riding high. At 7-1, the Rams held the No. 1 seed in the NFC and looked like the best team in the league.
Since that time, the Rams went all-in on winning this year. They traded for EDGE Von Miller and signed WR Odell Beckham Jr., becoming even more popular belles of the ball. But it hasn’t gone so well.
On Sunday, former Lions QB Matthew Stafford threw a pick-six for the third straight game in the Rams 36-28 loss in Green Bay. It was 36-10 before the Rams offense rallied late. The loss was L.A.’s third in a row. And the draft pick the Rams dealt to the Lions as part of the trade package to acquire Stafford this offseason keeps getting better for Detroit.
The Rams’ first-round pick is now the No. 23 overall pick. Three weeks ago it was No. 31. Sean McVay’s team has given up 95 points in those three losses and fallen from the No. 1 seed in the NFC to the No. 5 spot.
The improved draft slot is about the only reason a Lions fan would root for the Rams to lose to the Packers, but here we are.
