The Los Angeles Rams may not be the star-studded team they were in the last few years, but they still have three big names leading the charge: Aaron Donald, Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp.
One is a Pro Bowl quarterback, one is a three-time Defensive Player of the Year and the other is a Super Bowl MVP. Yet, those titles apparently aren’t enough to entice fans to buy their merchandise.
The NFLPA announced the top 50 players in merchandise sales from March 1 to May 31 and there isn’t a single Rams player represented. Bijan Robinson and Bryce Young, who only found out their NFL teams in late April, even made the top 50.
Amazingly, Baker Mayfield has sold more merchandise as a member of the Bucs than Donald, Kupp and Stafford. He came in at No. 50, slightly behind Robinson (48) and Young (49). Colts rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson ranked 38th, as well.
It’s obvious expectations are low for the Rams this year, but it’s downright shocking to see Donald, Kupp and Stafford absent from the top 50 player sales list. Maybe too many fans already have their jerseys and T-shirts that they didn’t need to buy more.
