Andrew Whitworth got some unfortunate news on Christmas morning when he learned that he tested positive for COVID-19 and would be forced to miss the Rams’ Week 16 game against the Vikings.
Fortunately, he won’t have to miss any more time than that. The Rams announced on Thursday that Whitworth has been activated from reserve/COVID-19. He’s now eligible to play against the Ravens on Sunday, which is great news for the Rams.
They should have their complete starting offensive line for the first time in a month, so long as Brian Allen’s knee is healthy enough after he injured it on Sunday. Whitworth, Allen and Rob Havenstein have all missed time due to injuries and COVID-19.
Whitworth has played at a high level all season, showing no signs of decline despite turning 40 this month.
