Gerald Everett was the first draft pick made by the Rams with Sean McVay as the head coach, being selected 44th overall in 2017. With McVay being a former tight ends coach, having worked with Jordan Reed, expectations were high for Everett coming into the NFL.
But he never truly broke out in L.A., getting stuck behind Tyler Higbee on the depth chart. Now four years later, he’s set to become a free agent.
With teams seeking dynamic pass-catching tight ends, Everett will have a market. And given Higbee’s presence, he may not want to play second fiddle at tight end anymore.
Could Everett be on his way out in free agency?
