Even with the Raiders’ playoff hopes dead and buried, they were looking to finish the season on a high note. To do that they need only take out the rival Broncos in Denver — something they hadn’t done since Jon Gruden returned as head coach.
Despite the fact that the Broncos do not have much in the way of an offense, they still put up 31 points in the game. Mostly it was thanks to the Raiders turning over the ball four times.
As was the case in their last two games against the Dolphins and Chargers, it was a tight game that came down to the final drive. But this time the Raiders were able to hold on for the win.
