While the Raiders had very slim playoff hopes, they did exist. They also hoped to ensure they didn’t finish the season with a losing record. Mostly, they just wanted to win.
That didn’t happen. It seemed they just couldn’t get out of their own way. The offense sputtered and the defense showed promise early, only to collapse late. Kind of like their season.
The defense was keeping things together through the third quarter and the Raiders had a 16-13 lead. That’s when the Dolphins put in Ryan Fitzpatrick and apparently he was their kryptonite. He had three drives and scored on all three, with the final one being the game-winner.
