Raiders waive LB Derrick Moncrief to make room for addition of RB Devontae Booker

Last week, we reported the Raiders had agreed to a deal with former Broncos RB Devontae Booker. His deal was pending his passing a physical. Today, he has passed that physical and the deal was made official by the Raiders.

With the team at 90 players, they would need to cut someone to add Booker. That player was former CFL linebacker Derrick Moncrief who the team had signed to a reserve/future contract back in January.

Booker was a fourth-round pick by the Broncos in the 2016 draft. He ran for 1,975 combined yards and seven touchdowns over four seasons in Denver.

Most of his yards came as a rookie and his touches went down each season. He had just two carries and six catches last season in 16 games.

He will join a running back room competing with the likes of William Stanback, Rod Smith, and third-round rookie Lynn Bowden Jr for the complementary back spot behind starter Josh Jacobs.
