Raiders waive DT P.J. Hall after voided trade

Initial reports had the Raiders waiving defensive tackle P.J. Hall. Then, as it turned out, they were able to swing a trade with the Vikings for a conditional 7th round pick. The conditions of the trade were that he would make the team and appear in at least six games. Well, about that first part…

Hall not only didn’t make the team, but he didn’t make it through the physical. His failed physical has voided the trade altogether, which sent him back to the Raiders, who said ‘nah, we’re good’ and waived him.

A failed physical for Hall is not all that surprising considering how open Jon Gruden had been this offseason about Hall not being in shape and not hustling. Most assumed when he was sent packing that it was because he showed up out of shape. That looks to be the case.

It’s a quick end for Hall who was the team’s second-round pick (57 overall) in 2018. Hall appeared in 30 games with 18 starts over two seasons.
