Raiders vs Chargers inactives: LT Kolton Miller misses first start of his career

Things along the Raiders offensive line just went from bad to worse. Much worse. One of their two steady presences along the line will not be on the field today. And it’s a big loss too. Left tackle Kolton Miller has an ankle injury and is inactive, making for an extremely shaky situation vs the Chargers.

This is the first start Miller has missed in his career, a streak of 39 straight games. Only twice in his career did he not play every single snap in the game.

Miller being inactive comes on the heels of the report that right tackle Trent Brown is expected to miss at least a month with COVID-19 complications.

That means the Raiders tackles are expected to be backup swing tackle Sam Young and third-string tackle Brandon Parker.

The backup swing tackle today will be practice squad call up, Jaryd Jones-Smith and if Sam Young’s track record this season is any indication, we could very well see Jones-Smith play today. Young has left games three times this season with an injury and has yet to play every snap in a game as a Raider. That includes just last week in Cleveland, when he left with a knee injury that had him limited all week in practice.

Not good.

Well, at least Joey Bosa is out for the Chargers or this could get really messy.
