Raiders uniforms named NFL’s best while new Rams, Falcons duds deservedly among worst

A flurry of new uniforms were introduced this offseason. Some were pretty good, while others were firmly in the ‘what are they thinking?’ category. With the new uniformed incorporated, Paul Lukas over at Inside Hook went about ranking them. And I found myself in agreement with basically everything he ranked.

First off, the Raiders take the top spot, with their classic Silver & Black, drawing an appreciation for simple, sleek, and traditional.

New city, new stadium, same old silver and black. The Raiders’ uniforms, essentially unchanged for a half-century now, are a case study in “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” Flashy? Nope. Modern? Nuh-uh. But while the franchise has had its ups and downs, its on-field look remains the definition of NFL uniform perfection. Chef’s kiss!

Jason Witten seems to like his new uniform. His old team, the Cowboys, came in at sixth in the rankings.

The top five rounds out with the Packers, Chargers, Steelers, and Browns.

While the Packers and Steelers, like the Raiders, field classic style, the Chargers and Browns changed things up a bit this year. And both are fire. The Chargers brought back their ever-popular powder blues permanently while the Browns are leaning into…wait for it…BROWN, with a nice all-brown combo.

The new Washington Football Team uniform, which will likely last just one season, came in at No. 12. Also no disagreement here. The simple color scheme of burgundy or white with gold trim is a smart look.

Jumping into the top half of the league’s uniforms is the Buccaneers (14) who went back to their old new pewter pirate threads which had once been embraced as the welcome replacements for the old orange creamsicle uniforms.

The rest of the new uniforms are straight trash. The Patriots (24) with their new stripy shoulder pads, the Rams (28) which seem to have consulted with a second grade class on their design idea, and the XFL reject Falcons (31) uniforms.

In case you were interested, the Chiefs landed at 30 and the Broncos at 26. The Cardinals were named the worst.
