Raiders sign veteran free-agent OT Sam Young

Even before we officially hear which undrafted free agents the Raiders are signing this offseason, the reports are coming out that they are adding more veteran free agents to the mix. Tuesday they added former 49ers tackle Sam Young, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Young was a 6th round pick in 2010 by the Cowboys out of Notre Dame. He played just two games in Dallas and has bounced around the league since. He also spent time with the Bills, Jaguars, and Dolphins before appearing in four games last season for the 49ers.

He has appeared in 92 games with 21 starts over his ten-year NFL career. His most starts in a season was six which he did in 2014 for the Jaguars and 2017 for the Dolphins.

In true Tom Cable style, Young stands at 6-8, which is the same height as the Raiders tackles Kolton Miller, Trent Brown, Brandon Parker. The other tackle in the group is 6-6 David Sharpe.
