Con: Accuracy Outside the Numbers
A quarterback displaying accuracy to every level of the field is vital to success on the NFL level. When a signal-caller struggles to complete passes to a particular area of the field, teams will catch on and play to that tendency.
This is the main area where Love struggles, especially in the intermediate range. He misses too many open receivers in the 10-20 yards range with inaccurate throws, making easy interceptions for the opposing defense.
When a player struggles outside the numbers, it’s usually mechanical issues, and the same goes for the Love. His feet don’t always match his eyes, causing errant throws when his receivers win. These types of things can be improved with hard work and repetition, but Love is going to need time to perfect this.
Con: Decision Making
The easiest knock on Love is his decision-making ability overall. He threw 17 interceptions in a non-power five conference and threw three when faced with LSU in September. Love can make bone-headed throws into tight windows that definitely make you scratch your head.
Love's decision making is suspect at times. I have no idea why he thought he could fit this ball in there. Add on the bad throw. pic.twitter.com/gO1DjPtS85

He struggles with understanding the leverage of defenders, which is critical when projecting a quarterback to the NFL. A player might seem open, but if the quarterback can’t tell when a corner is about to break on the football, it is a huge red flag. Love’s film is filled with these mistakes, and he has to improve his post-snap mental processing to succeed at the next level.
