Raiders request head coach interview with Chiefs DC Steve Spagnuolo

The Raiders continue their attempts to poach from the NFL’s top teams’ staffs to fill their head coach vacancy.

The Raiders are making it a priority in their head coaching search to pluck coaches from winning staffs. There were already reports of them requesting interviews from top the top seeded Lions’ staff. Now they are reportedly requesting to speak with Steve Spagnuolo from the staff of the top seeded Chiefs.

Spagnuolo has been the DC in KC the past six seasons. He was once the head coach of the Rams for three seasons (2009-11) where he had an abysmal record of 10-38.

The Raiders would like to see if maybe he has learned anything over the past 13 years as a coordinator. In particular the past six under Andy Reid where he got three Super Bowl rings.
