Following his arrest on Friday, the Raiders released Pro Bowl DE Chandler Jones on Saturday. The Raiders placed Jones on the non-football injury list a few weeks ago after several concerning social media posts. He has been away from the team for several weeks and has not practiced with the squad since training camp.
But Jones being arrested is what ultimately led to him being released. That news was first reported by Adam Schefter of ESPN:

The Raiders signed Jones to a three-year, $51 million contract extension during the 2022 offseason. He started 15 games for the team last season, recording 4.5 sacks. Jones, 33, is now a free agent and can sign elsewhere as he does not need to clear waivers.
Malcolm Koonce and Tyree Wilson are expected to see even more snaps going forward with it now confirmed that Jones will not be back in the lineup. Wilson was the No. 7 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, but has yet to record a sack this season.
