Raiders RB Josh Jacobs suffered ankle sprain in Week 12 loss to Falcons

Things have gone from bad to worse for the Las Vegas Raiders. After losing two straight games, the team has seen their playoff chances dwindle significantly over the last few weeks. Now, their road to the playoffs might have gotten that much harder after running back Josh Jacobs suffered an ankle injury in Week 12.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Jacobs suffered the injury during the game and didn’t return. There is some optimism that he won’t miss much time, if any, but the fact that this could be bothering him for a few weeks could be problematic.

Ankle injuries, especially for running backs, can be tricky and are worth monitoring. If Jacobs isn’t able to practice much or at all this week, the team might sit him in favor of Devontae Booker. We will continue to update the status of Jacobs throughout the week as we inch closer to the team’s upcoming matchup with the New York Jets.

In 11 games, Jacobs has totaled 957 yards and nine touchdowns this season. However, he has seen his efficiency drop by quite a bit as he is averaging only 3.8 yards per carry this season.
