Raiders RB Josh Jacobs, SS Johnathan Abram not expected to play in Week 14 vs Colts

Sunday against the Jets, the Raiders were without starting running back Josh Jacobs and safety Johnathan Abram. It’s Monday and Jon Gruden is already call it for next week against the Colts; they will be out again.

“I wouldn’t expect those guys to play right now based on what I saw last week,” Gruden said today of Jacobs and Abram. “I’m sure they’re down there getting treatment, we’ll get them back as soon as we can. Hopefully, we get some good news on Wednesday, but as we prepare the game plan here, we’re preparing the guys that are healthy, that we know are healthy, and we can count upon to be on the field on Wednesday.”

Devontae Booker got the start against the Jets on Sunday, rushing for 50 yards on 16 carries (3.1 yards per carry). Jalen Richard also got four carries and Theo Riddick got three carries, and the entire unit averaged under three yards per carry (2.9).

With Abram missing, Erik Harris returned to the starting lineup alongside Jeff Heath who would leave the game for a time with injury, bringing in Dallin Leavitt. That looks to be the rotation again next Sunday when Philip Rivers and the Colts come to Las Vegas.
