Raiders RB Josh Jacobs excelling after contact as rookie

There are a ton of reasons why Josh Jacobs is having a monster season for the Raiders. He’s running with confidence as Oakland’s offensive line has been dominating the line of scrimmage.

But the main reason he has had so much success has been his ability to make plays after contact. Jacobs rarely goes down after the initial hit, usually running for two or three yards more while dragging defenders.

According to Pro Football Focus, Jacobs has already totaled 715 yards after contact, the fifth-most in the NFL. Combine that with his ability to make defenders miss, and it’s not hard to see why he’s already among the best running backs in the NFL.

With just five games left in the 2019 season, expect the Raiders to lean on their rookie runner as the Raiders make a push for the playoffs.
