Raiders RB Josh Jacobs ‘day-to-day’ with injury, ‘very questionable’ vs Dolphins

Doesn’t sound optimistic that Josh Jacobs will play for Raiders vs Dolphins

Ahead of the Raiders’ season opener against the Ravens, Josh Jacobs was downgraded to questionable with toe and ankle injuries. He would play in that game and even score a couple of touchdowns, but clearly was in considerable pain.

In the week leading up to the Steelers game in week two, Jacobs missed every practice and was ruled OUT on the final injury report. He was replaced in the lineup by Peyton Barber.

From the sounds of it, odds are the Raiders will be without Jacobs again.

“I met with him this morning. He’s in great spirits, really happy with the win,” Gruden said of Jacobs. “I would think he day-to-day and very questionable again for this game.”

The Raiders run game was going nowhere through most of the Steelers game and the two backs Barber and Kenyan Drake, averaged two yards per carry between them on 20 carries (41 yards).

The Steelers have a stout run defense, but so too does the Dolphins. The Raiders may again have to make up for issues on the ground in other areas.
