Things have gone from bad to worse for Jalen Richard this offseason. After the team signed veteran running back Kenyan Drake to a two-year deal, his job was already in jeopardy as the team’s passing-down back. Richard does most of his work in the receiving game, but that’s where Drake was brought in to play.
And then just a week ago, Richard was placed on the COVID-19 list. Now, he is dealing with a foot injury that could cost him the rest of camp. According to Tashan Reed of The Athletic, Richard will be out indefinitely and there is no current timetable for his return.
#Raiders RB Jalen Richard has sustained a foot injury and will be out indefinitely, sources tell @TheAthleticNFL. He missed the first few practices of training camp after being placed on the COVID-19 list and will now miss more time. Vegas has 5 other active RBs on the roster.

Richard has spent his entire career with the Raiders, totaling 2,811 yards and seven touchdowns in five seasons. The 2020 season was the worst of his career, however, after only touching the ball 41 times on offense.
With all of the current setbacks for Richard, it does appear his roster spot might be in jeopardy. Here is to hoping that Richard can return to the field sooner rather than later.
