The last two weeks for Derek Carr have been a bit of a struggle. Without Henry Ruggs III, defenses are sitting on some of the underneath routes and are now able to double Darren Waller.
However, Carr has proven in the past that he can adjust and figure out a different way to keep the offense moving. Whether that be more downfield targets to Bryan Edwards or more of Hunter Renfrow in the slot, you can trust that he’ll get the offense back on track.
One of the reasons for that warranted trust is his ability to beat the blitz. According to Pro Football Focus, no quarterback in the NFL has more passing yards than Carr (884) when blitzed.

The second-best quarterback in the NFL at beating the blitz has been Joe Burow, who just so happens to be the Week 11 opponent of the Raiders. However, the way the Bengals beat the blitz is much different than the Raiders.
When pressured, Burrow likes to throw the ball down the field to Ja’Marr Chase. Carr, on the other hand, looks for Hunter Renfrow and Darren Waller. Both are successful for each team, but the Burrow-to-Chase connection is far more explosive.
Keep an eye on how both teams handle the blitz in Week 11 as the offense that can create chunk plays against pressure will likely emerge victorious.
