Today, the Raiders took care of a bit more business with regard to their 2021 draft class. They signed first-round tackle Alex Leatherwood to his four-year deal with a fifth-year option.

Leatherwood was the team’s pick at 17 overall in April’s draft out of Alabama. He is expected to step in right away at right tackle for the team which traded away Trent Brown this offseason after two seasons.

The 6-5, 312-pounder will be given every opportunity to keep the right tackle spot, but GM Mike Mayock made it clear that if he struggles there, he could ultimately be moved inside to guard, which is where many had him projected as a pro.

With this signing, the Raiders have just their day two picks remaining to be signed. They had one pick in round two (S Trevon Moehrig) and two in round three (DE Malcolm Koonce and LB Divine Deablo).

They have already signed their three Day 3 picks; S Tyree Gillespie (round four), CB Nate Hobbs (round five) and C Jimmy Morrissey (round seven).
