Raiders fall in another close game, lose 13-10 to Steelers

The season isn’t quite over for the Raiders, but it’s close. After dominating all game long, the Raiders found a way to lose another close game. This time, it was to the Steelers 13-10 in Pittsburgh

The Raiders took an early lead in this game, scoring a touchdown on their opening drive. They converted a 3rd and 16 to keep the chains moving and it was Hunter Renfrow who scored the first touchdown of the game.

From that point, it was a pretty sloppy game that had turnovers from both quarterbacks on back-to-back drives. There were several dropped passes, missed field goals and a ton of miscues.

The offense for the Raiders really stalled in the second half. Despite multiple drives with great field position, Derek Carr took some bad sacks and the offense just couldn’t get out of their own way. They never scored in the second half after taking a 10-3 lead going into halftime.

Carr finished the game with three interceptions and they never had a drive of over 20 yards in the second half. It was another half to forget for Carr.

Pittsburgh took their first lead of the game with 46 seconds left in the fourth quarter. It was a 12-yard touchdown to Kenny Pickett on first down after barely converting on fourth and inches on a QB sneak. Pittsburgh went nearly the length of the field to take the lead.

The Raiders lost to key defenders in this game as both Chandler Jones (elbow) and Denzel Perryman (shoulder) were both quickly ruled out of the game. Neither player looks like they will be available anytime soon for the Raiders.

The Raiders will host the San Francisco 49ers on New Year’s Day at 1:00 PM ET. The 49ers are still fighting for the No. 2 seed in the NFC, so they’ll certainly have something to play for next week. The Raiders can be eliminated by Sunday with wins by the Chargers and Dolphins.
