Well, then. The Raiders are back in the cornerback market as ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the deal between Las Vegas and Apple has fallen apart. Apple will now return to free agency and that leaves the Raiders with a need at cornerback, just a few weeks away from the NFL Draft.
Raiders and former Saints’ CB Eli Apple were unable to finalize a contract, per sources, and Apple remains a free agent. Another one added to the list.

With teams not being able to meet in person with possible free agents, it doesn’t allow for physicals to be done. That, in itself, can present problems for teams during the free-agent process.
With Apple now set to return to free agency, don’t be surprised if the Raiders look to bring back Daryl Worley on a short deal or if they add a veteran like Brandon Carr or Logan Ryan. Another potential name is Darqueze Dennard, who had a similar issue happen with him as he agreed to a deal with the Jaguars before that ultimately fell through. Either way, cornerback remains a big need for the Raiders entering the draft.
