After recording a sack in Week 7 against the Bears, Tyree Wilson struggled to have an impact against the Lions. Playing against one of the best offensive lines in the league, Wilson failed to record a pressure in Week 8.
Wilson primarily faced Taylor Decker on the left side and was on the field for 38 snaps. It was one of his worst games of the season, finishing with a grade of 46.9, according to Pro Football Focus. Here is what PFF had to say about the No. 7 pick from the 2023 NFL Draft:
Wilson didn’t record any pressure from 11 pass-rushing snaps and made just one run stop on 22 run-defense snaps. After earning a career-high 82.9 PFF grade in Week 7, he reverted to another sub-60.0 game grade — his seventh of the season.
Wilson has recorded just one sack this season and has been relatively quiet during the rest of the year. Maybe the change in coaching staff will help him to play better over the final month. But there is no reason to sugarcoat it; Wilson has been a disappointment as a rookie pass rusher.
