Raiders bring back OT Devery Hamilton, cut three others for round two of roster trimming

Tuesday the Raiders must be down to 80 players. That means they must trim the roster by five players. That work began today while also seeing one offseason player return.

First up, the Raiders re-signed tackle Devery Hamilton who had been waived after spending all of camp on the Non-Football Illness list. He will compete with Patrick Omameh and Jaryd Jones-Smith for a roster spot or a spot on the practice squad.

Simultaneously the Raiders cut three players. They released CB Rasul Douglas and G Parker Ehinger and waived P Corliss Waitman.

That’s a net negative two players on the roster which means they must make at least three more moves by tomorrow in order to get down to the 80-player limit.

Some of those moves could end up being injury-related. The most recent being linebacker Javin White who left the team’s preseason game on Saturday with an apparently serious knee injury.
