Raiders bring back DE Ade Aruna

With roster spots open and the team down a defensive end because of Maxx Crosby being placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list, the Raiders have re-signed defensive end Ade Aruna.

The 6-5, 263-pounder, originally joined the Raiders just prior to the end of last season, signing on to the team’s practice squad. A week later, he was signed to a Reserve/Future contract. Then on report day, two weeks ago, Aruna was placed on the Non-football injury list and waived.

Injury troubles kept the former sixth-round pick (218 overall) from appearing in an NFL game over the past two seasons. He was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in 2018 and has landed on injured reserve prior to the start of both seasons. He was ultimately cut by the Vikings early last season.

Over four seasons at Tulane, Aruna compiled 11 sacks, 109 combined tackles, 19.0 for a loss. He is a native of Akure, Nigeria, having moved to the U.S. in 2010 at the age of 16.
